Maritime Consortium
American Maritime Safety, Inc., (“AMS”) is a
non-profit and tax exempt maritime trade
association established in 1988 in Manhattan,
New York, to facilitate the maritime industry’s
compliance with the following international
shipping protocols and US Coast Guard
regulations: |
- The Oil Company’s
International Marine Forum Guideline’s (“OCIMF”);
- The Oil Company’s Charter
Party Agreements;
- The US Department of
Transportation (“DOT”) regulation, 49 CFR
Part 40;
- The US Coast Guard (“USCG”)
drug and alcohol testing regulations 46 CFR
Part 4, 5 and 16.
- The US Coast Guard (“USCG”)
alcohol testing regulation, 33 CFR Part 95.
- The ISM Code of Social
Responsibility and the STCW requirements.

consortium administers a drug and alcohol
testing compliance program for the following

- Passenger vessel
operators;
- Dry-bulk vessel
operators;
- LNG vessel operators;
- Tug and Barge operators;
- Offshore drilling rigs
and offshore supply vessels (OSV);
- Charter boat operators;
- The US Maritime Colleges;
- The large US seafarer
unions;

Consortium serves over two-thirds of the US
flag maritime industry and administers a random
chemical testing program for over 900
deep-sea vessels. The organization also serves
international flag operators who manage vessels
that call in major ports in the US, Europe,
Japan and the Far East. |
